Bridges of Understanding supports the "Youth Initiative for Progress in Iraq", a non-partisan conference that provided Iraqi and American youth with a voice and the tools necessary to make concrete progress toward a sustainable future between the two countries.
The conference brought together 16 Iraqi and 16 American participants between the ages of 16 and 19, aided by 10 student facilitators, to the King's Academy boarding school outside of Amman, Jordan from July 14th to July 25th, 2008. During the Bridges of Understanding Annual Fall Conference, Initiative leaders, Astrid Stuth and Michael Schoenleber, gave a presentation discussing the 2008 initiative conference and their goals for future conferences.
